My Approach
I believe that counselling works best when you feel safe, heard and respected. I offer a warm, non-judgemental environment where you are supported to explore your experiences at your own pace.
You are always regarded as the expert in your own life. My role is not to tell you what to do but to use my professional skills and experience to help you develop greater understanding, clarity and choice around what is happening for you.
Counselling is a collaborative process. During your introductory call, you will have the opportunity to talk about what has brought you to counselling and what you would like to work on. This focus can change over time, and I regularly review the work with you to ensure sessions remain supportive and relevant.
Professional Standards and Confidentiality
I am committed to practising ethically and safely. I attend regular clinical supervision to ensure I am working effectively and in line with professional standards. Client anonymity is always maintained.
Confidentiality is a central part of counselling. What you share is treated with respect and discretion, except in rare circumstances where there is a concern about serious risk or where disclosure is required by law. These limits to confidentiality will always be discussed with you.
I also work in line with data protection regulations and takes care to store client information securely.
